Installation guide

Install Proof-of-Silence™ v1.1.2

Five steps. Installing the requirements needs the internet once; after that, the tests and the verifier are designed to run offline. Standard and Commercial: same code, same steps. Prefer one command? The installer does all five steps and stops if any required check fails.

Narrated video, recorded with the published v1.1.2 package. The commands and results shown are from v1.1.2; the test run reports 548 passed.

1. Download and check the file

Download the ZIP from your order email and compare the complete SHA-256 with the one on the Verification page.

macOS / Linux:  shasum -a 256 proof-of-silence-v1.1.2-standard.zip
Windows:        certutil -hashfile proof-of-silence-v1.1.2-standard.zip SHA256

Then unzip it and open a terminal in the new folder. Commercial customers: the file name ends in -commercial.zip.

2. Install the requirements, once

Python 3.10 or newer. This step needs internet access unless the packages are already available locally; the verifier itself never contacts neonai.shop or anyone else.

pip install pydantic cryptography pytest

On Windows, type python instead of python3 in the commands below.

3. Prove it works before you trust it

macOS / Linux: python3 -X utf8 -m pytest -q
Windows:       python -X utf8 -m pytest -q

Expect 548 passed (v1.1.1: 446 passed; v1.1.0: 376 passed). Explicit UTF-8 mode avoids a Windows console-decoding failure caused by Unicode status text. Anything else: stop and contact us.

4. See the three outcomes

R="--registry examples/example-registry.json"
P="--policy examples/example-policy.json"
C="--checkpoint examples/example-checkpoint.json"

python3 pos_verify.py examples/example-chain.jsonl           $R $P $C   # VERIFIED     exit 0
python3 pos_verify.py examples/example-chain-empty.jsonl     $R $P      # NO_EVIDENCE  exit 2
python3 pos_verify.py examples/example-chain-truncated.jsonl $R $P $C   # FAILED       exit 1
python3 pos_verify.py examples/example-chain-tampered.jsonl  $R $P $C   # FAILED       exit 1

On Windows, type the --registry, --policy and --checkpoint options in full. Even a VERIFIED result lists what it could not establish.

5. Watch the gate refuse an injected instruction

python3 examples/gate_demo.py demo-out
python3 examples/firewall_demo.py

A hidden instruction in an attachment is rejected, the legitimate reply is allowed under a signed grant, and a replay is rejected. All three decisions are signed into the chain.

Next

  • Your first chain: GETTING-STARTED.md, step 5 — about 20 lines of Python.
  • Publish your checkpoints: email them to the counterparty; only then is deletion detectable.
  • Keep the policy with the chain: without it, evidence sufficiency cannot be checked.
