Proof-of-Silence™ is a cryptographic accountability layer — seatbelts for AI. Before an AI agent acts, an action gate runs five checks; every decision, including the decision not to act, is hashed, signed and chained, and anyone can verify it offline. Supports key EU AI Act requirements around record-keeping, traceability and human oversight. Not a certification. It does not replace legal advice or an independent assessment.

Release: v1.1.2 — frozen 20 October 2026. Customers whose v1.1.x licence is within its twelve-month updates period receive it at no additional charge. Try before you buy: run the real example chains through the verifier in your browser. Installation: narrated video and step-by-step guide.

What you receive

The same software as the Standard Edition — the difference is the licence, not the code: a Python reference implementation with the action gate (EVIDENCE, PERMISSION, POLICY, FRESHNESS, REPLAY), the Agent Firewall (deny-by-default for 12 high-risk agent actions) and Agent Ear (behaviour timeline and change points read from the chain), an offline CLI verifier with three exit codes, 548 tests including adversarial and red-team suites, 21 frozen conformance vectors, runnable demos, example chains and full documentation. What the Commercial Licence allows

• Everything the Standard Edition allows
• Embed it in a product, service, platform or SDK you supply to your own customers
• Redistribute it, modified or unmodified, as part of that product
• Offer it as a hosted or managed service to third parties
• Sublicense it to your customers as a component of your product
• Remove or replace our branding in your product's user interface
• One licence covers one company, including its subsidiaries — no limit on end customers, deployments, chains or records

What it does not allow

• Reselling the software as a standalone product — substantially as it is, as a competing implementation of the same protocol
• Using the Proof-of-Silence™ name to imply any endorsement, approval or review of your product by us

Attribution: your product documentation must state that it incorporates the Proof-of-Silence™ Protocol, using the attribution wording in the LICENSE file. No attribution is required in your end-user interface.

Updates and support

• Patch releases within 1.1.x and minor releases (1.2.x) included for twelve months from purchase
• Email support for integration questions for twelve months, best effort, from a solo founder in Ireland. No SLA is offered — if you need one, contact us before buying.

Verification boundaries

Verification applies to the records, public keys and trust anchors presented. A valid signature does not establish that every claim inside a record is true.

• Record hashes, signatures and chain links can be checked against the supplied data.
• Signer authority requires a key registry obtained from someone other than the operator.
• History completeness and rollback detection require independently held checkpoints.
• The gate stops nothing on its own: your application must call it before acting, and actions that never ask the gate leave no record.

If you embed this in a product other people rely on, pass an equivalent honest statement of its limits on to your customers, and do not make tamper-resistance, independent-verification or regulatory claims about your product on the strength of this component.
